Grab a cool drink and fire up the PC for the annual Summer Gaming Sale on GOG. The sale features over 1000 deals up to 90% off, including recent indie games and classics from the 80s and 90s. The Summer Gaming Sale ends June 18.
This year you can earn several free games, beginning with Xenonauts. To get Xenonauts simply go to GOG.com, sign in, and click the button. Xenonauts launched in 2014 as a more authentic, old school spiritual successor to X-COM: UFO Defense.
Note that the Xenonauts giveaway only lasts for 48 hours. Grab it before June 6.
There are two more free games you can earn by spending money during the sale. Spend $5 to unlock Sunless Sea, ship-based adventure-RPG, and $20 to get RIME, a 3D platformer. Upon spending the money you’ll receive codes to redeem on GOG. Make sure you redeem those codes by July 2.
The Summer Gaming Sale features a solid mix of game styles and genres. You can find small discounts on very recent releases like Into the Breach (20% off), Frostpunk (10% off), The Swords of Ditto (20% off), Hand of Fate 2 (15% off), Cuphead (15% off), and Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice (33% off).
Slightly older games feature better discounts: Darkest Dungeon (60% off), The Witness (60% off), and Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun (50% off).
For the best sale prices we’ll need to go back even further, into PC gaming’s classic past. How about Theme Hospital (85% off), SimCity 2000 (85% off), Dungeon Keeper 2 (75% off), and RollerCoaster Tycoon (67% off)?
If you’re jumping into PC gaming and not sure where to start, GOG offers both recommendations from gaming outlets (much the same as Steam’s curators), as well as series bundles.
