Tomb Raider fans rejoice: Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics have officially announced the third title in the rebooted Tomb Raider series: Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Shadow of the Tomb Raider will launch on September 14 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.

Despite already getting a firm release date (barring any delays), Square hasn’t yet announced any more details or information other than the teaser trailer above. Instead we’ll be getting a ‘full reveal’ of Shadow of the Tomb Raider on April 27. The Tomb Raider website features a countdown timer to the reveal date. A puzzle is coming next Monday that will presumably further tease some information.

The venerable action-adventure Tomb Raider series was rebooted in 2013. The 2013 game starred a younger, more realistically-proportioned Lara in the beginnings of her adventuring career. The gameplay featured elements of Uncharted and the Batman Arkham series as Lara utilized new weapons and tools in exploring a dangerous island.

The reboot was lauded by fans and critics alike. A sequel, Rise of the Tomb Raider, released in 2015 as a timed exclusive for Xbox One, then in 2016 for PlayStation 4 and PC. It was similarly well received.

A new Tomb Raider movie releases in theaters tomorrow, March 16. The design of Lara and themes from the trailer look heavily drawn from the rebooted series. It’s directed by Roar Uthaug and stars Alicia Vikander as Lara Croft.

We’ll check back in next month for more information on Shadow of the Tomb Raider. It’s launching for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on September 14. It has not yet been rated, but the two previous games were both M for Mature.
