PC gaming digital distributor GOG.com is kicking off their Summer Sale today. The Sale includes over 1500 discounts of up to 90% off. Any purchase during the sale will net a free copy of spaceship sim Rebel Galaxy. The GOG Summer Sale will last for two weeks.

GOG is home to older classic games as well as newer indie titles. It offers an alternative to Steam where you can permanently download games to your hard drive, no license required. Highlights of the GOG Summer Sale include: The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Game of the Year (50% off), Pillars of Eternity (60% off), Stardew Valley (33% off), and Night in the Woods (15% off).

To help navigate the large library of games, GOG has put together a few dozen lists. Some of the collections are general recommendations based on genre, while others were submitted by other websites and popular YouTube and Twitch gamers, including PC Gamer, Eurogamer, Yogscast, and Day9.

Surrounding the Summer Sale will be a Choose Your Own Adventure style RPG called Adventure on Mystery Island. This meta game will be played out via Twitter polls. Rebel Galaxy is mentioned as the reward for the first adventure, so it’s possible more free games are yet to come.

The Summer Sale also brings back another round of GOG Connect. GOG Connect lets you connect your Steam account to your GOG library, letting you redeem select Steam games into non-DRM versions. A total of 40 games can be given the GOG Connect treatment, including The Walking Dead: Season 1, Amnesia: the Dark Descent, and Brutal Legend.

.The GOG Summer Sale ends June 20. Note that the free copy of Rebel Galaxy may take some time to arrive due to internet traffic.
