A special Limited Edition version will be released on the same day, May 19. It will retail for $59.99. Additionally, an amiibo two-pack featuring the two leads, Alm and Celica, will be released for $24.99.

Note that the above trailer shows the European Limited Edition, which will include the amiibo figures.

In addition to the game, the Limited Edition includes the following bonus goodies:

  • Artbook
  • Metal pins of Alm, Celica, and Marth
  • Reversable title sheet
  • “Sounds of Echoes” soundtrack on CD

The new amiibo figures will unlock exclusive dungeons within Fire Emblem Echoes. The figures can also be used in battle, by sacrificing a portion of their health to summon an AI-controlled hero as a temporary ally. This ghostly helper can grow and level up, and their stats will be saved to the amiibo.

Fire Emblem Echoes

Previously released Fire Emblem amiibo such as Marth and Lucina are also compatible in Fire Emblem Echoes. They too will summon ghostly versions that will help in battle. All other amiibo can also be used in Echoes. Non-Fire Emblem figures will summon a monster to the battleground who will assist players. Note that only the the New Nintendo 3DS can use amiibo.

Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia is a remake of Fire Emblem Gaiden. Fire Emblem Gaiden was the second ever Fire Emblem game, and was released in 1992 in Japan. Fire Emblem was not released outside of Japan until 2003, making this the first chance many players get to experience it.

Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia releases on May 19.
