The popular line of Professor Layton puzzle games has always starred the title character, Professor (Hershel) Layton. But the latest game in the franchise will feature Lady (Kat) Layton. Besides the switch in main character a lot of the supporting characters in Lady Layton: The Millionaire Ariadone’s Conspiracy will be new as well.
The new game will also be less about solving dynamic puzzles and more about investigating. You’ll be tasked with solving a number of mysteries around London. Developer Level-5 says this will help improve the pacing of the game and allow for more humor. The Professor Layton games have already been humorous, so it will be interesting to see how much funnier Lady Layton: The Millionaire Ariadone’s Conspiracy will be. Even with the shift in plot, the game will still include plenty of brain teasers.
Lady Layton: The Millionaire Ariadone’s Conspiracy is slated for release in Japan next spring for 3DS, iOS and Android. It will make its way west later in 2017.
