Telltale Games, the development studio behind episodic games like The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones, has officially announced the release date for the latest installment of their Minecraft: Story Mode series. Episode 7, which is entitled “Access Denied,” will be available for download beginning July 26th across a variety of platforms including PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and mobile devices.
This latest episode is part of the add-on series to Minecraft: Story Mode, which continues the story of Jesse and his or her friends following the destruction of the Wither Storm. The group of friends have managed to trap themselves in a strange world. Their only hope of escaping is to find the portal that will take them home. Episode 7: Access Denied introduces a new foe called PAMA. PAMA is an artificial intelligence set on exerting control over everyone for the purposes of transforming her world into a well-oiled machine. PAMA’s creator, Harper, will be voiced by Yvette Nicole Brown, best known for her role as Shirley Bennett on the NBC comedy show Community.
Players interested in Episodes 6-8 of the add-on series can purchase the Adventure Pass on online stores or via digital distribution services for $14.99 USD. Doing so will grant them access to Episode 6 as well as Episodes 7 and 8 upon release. Otherwise, Episode 7 can be purchased independently for $4.99 USD.
