Star Wars: The Force Awakens has been in theaters for 10 days now, and it is performing extremely well with critics and fans alike. Sadly, the brand-new and much-beloved protagonists Finn, Rey, and Poe will not be making their way into any Star Wars Battlefront DLC.
According to a Tweet by EA, all future Battlefront DLC will remain squarely focused on the original trilogy.
@ninjachris404 Our team is focusing on the original trilogy for this release of Star Wars Battlefront.

This isn’t too surprising: given the amount of new content that was just injected into the Star Wars universe, it seems likely that these characters will get their EA game debut in a brand-new title, rather than in some DLC. Still, how cool would it be to have BB-8 rolling around in the gorgeous settings of Battlefront?
Star Wars Battlefront’s DLC Battle of Jakku takes place on the same desert planet that is featured in The Force Awakens, but there are no character overlaps with the film.
