Hot Shots Golf was announced at the Tokyo Game Show today. It will be coming to the PlayStation 4 in 2016. Developer Clap Hanz develops the Hot Shots Golf series, which is known as Everybody’s Golf in Japan. Their last gold game, Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational (otherwise confusingly known as Everybody’s Golf 6), came out in 2012 for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.

Fittingly, this trailer uses Owl City’s “Clap Your Hands” as the theme song, as the cartoonish characters enjoy chilling out at the golf course on a sunny day.

Previous installments of Hot Shots Golf have had local and online multiplayer, and it’s expected of the PlayStation 4 version as well. In fact, Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational had customizeable avatars and interactive multiplayer lobbies where you can hang out and have fun in between rounds of golf.

Judging by the trailer, the new Hot Shots game will have the same friendly multiplayer mode and a colorful cast of golfers. Of course, it’s likely that Hot Shots Golf will be released in Japan well before it comes to North America. Still, that means we get to see how it’s received.

Until then we’ll just live with our fantasies of parasailing into a golf tournament to blow the socks off everyone. That’s the dream…
