This week at San Diego Comic-Con, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment gave us a bunch of new info about the upcoming LEGO Marvel’s Avengers game.

There are over 100 characters being added to the game, including all the leads from the new Avengers film. (And yes, Scarlet Witch and Black Widow will be present, despite being left off most a great deal of merch.)

The best part, in my opinion, is that the character lineup will feature some Avengers heroes that are a little less known, including some of the Young Avengers. We will also be seeing some new heroes taking over familiar titles—Sam Wilson as Captain America, for instance. Sam Wilson is better known to fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the Falcon, Steve Rogers’ close friend. In the comics, however, he also takes a turn as Captain America.

Also important to note is that the game will include characters who are LGBTQ—Billy Kaplan (Wiccan) and America Chavez (the second Miss America). Both are gay teenagers. There are rumors that we may also see Miles Morales (the newest Spider-Man) and Kamala Khan (the newest Ms. Marvel), both popular characters who also happen to be teens of color. However, as far as I can tell, Miles and Kamala haven’t been confirmed.

(Unfortunately, there’s been some concern that Chavez has been whitewashed—she is Latina, but her LEGO character doesn’t look much like her. This could just be an early design flaw, but in any case we do hope that LEGO gives her a more accurate complexion and hair color in the future.)

During the presentation, Stan Lee revealed to fans that he was not only involved with the game, but also has his own Iron Man suit and a special armor called the Stan-Buster.
