Google Cardboard, an app that allows users to turn their smartphones into virtual reality (VR) headsets, is available on iPhone starting today. It was previously only available to Android users.

VR headsets like the Oculus Rift or Valve’s upcoming Vive are going to have a big impact on the future of gaming. Unfortunately, this technology tends to be very expensive. Google Cardboard is a great way for gamers to experience VR technology without paying hundreds of dollars.

The idea behind Google Cardboard is that users make or purchase their own headsets out of cardboard and a few other materials for low cost. Then they just slide their smartphones into the headsets and experience virtual reality!
