Portkey Games and Niantic have conjured the first teaser trailer for upcoming Augmented Reality (AR) mobile game, Harry Potter: Wizards Unite. It’s launching in 2019.

Harry Potter: Wizards Unite is developed by the same team behind Pokémon GO. As an AR game, players will need to journey out into the real world. Instead of capturing Pokémon you’ll be casting spells, battling fantastic beasts, and meeting iconic characters from the Harry Potter series.

Hopeful wizards enlist in the new Statue of Secrecy Task Force to save the world from a surge of chaotic wild magic called the Calamity. The Calamity threatens the world of muggles, and it’s up to you to combat these threats around the world using a variety of spells.

Harry Potter: Wizards Unite was originally announced almost exactly one year ago. We haven’t learned any new details since. The trailer provides our first teasing look at the gameplay and story.

Earlier this year Jam City released a very different Harry Potter mobile game, Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery. Hogwarts Mystery is an RPG where you create your own young witch or wizard and attend Hogwarts in the years before Harry first arrived. The gameplay is solid but its limited energy system has been heavily criticized for its hefty pay-to-win microtransactions.

Harry Potter: Wizards Unite is due to release some time next year.
