Electronic Arts revealed a new trailer and some new details about Mass Effect: Andromeda at their EA Play press conference earlier today. A representative from BioWare said the game will offer players way more freedom than previous Mass Effect Games.

In Mass Effect: Andromeda you’re on a mission to find a new home for humanity. They didn’t say exactly why we need to find a home, but we do. This mission will lead you way beyond the Milky Way in a vast universe of planets, life forms and civilizations. You are essentially the alien infiltrator of all of these worlds. Some of them will, of course, be hostile. But some others will have intelligent civilizations  that are amenable to your presence.

The game will also include an entirely new class of characters with all new species types. Open-ended exploration is the core of the gameplay in Mass Effect: Andromeda. Though, we can still expect the branching options that change the game based on your decisions.

These new details come on the heels of an announcement that game had been delayed to 2017. It was originally planned for release this fall.
