For both genders, I like smart characters who seem more than 2D. Sarcastic, witty smartasses are my favorite though.

Both Mass Effect and Halo have invested me the most in their worlds.Mass Effect wins simple because I fell in love with my crew.

Every death in Magicka. From being exploded by steam to being thrown off a speeding Zepplin because your friend hit the wrong button. The best deaths are those that take so many little details to occur that you can’t believe it happened. Or that time Gandhi nuked me back to the stone age.
