Story & Themes

There isn’t much of a continuing story to the Plants vs. Zombies universe. It’s pretty much just…plants. Vs. zombies.

The second game, Plants vs. Zombies 2: It’s About Time, is very similar in style to its predecessor. This time, however, there is a silly sub-plot involving time-traveling and tacos. The game also includes optional in-app purchases.

Players can save the game after every level.

Difficulty

The early levels of the game are quite easy, but the later levels become very difficult to pass without purchasing the premium content.

Heads Up!

Violence Very cartoony violence.

Scary Imagery Some very little kids might find the zombie characters scary.

Consumerism The in-game purchases encourage players to spend more money. Although these are technically optional, the game's difficulty in the later levels almost requires players to purchase or spend hours earning enough in-game currency to purchase the boosts necessary.
