Borderlands 4 release date, new Digimon adventure, and a Days Gone Remaster? Oh, and a new Five Nights at Freddy’s! The latest PlayStation State of Play revealed new games, new release dates, and plenty of new trailers coming to PlayStation over the next year, and beyond.

Here are the biggest highlights from the February 2025 PlayStation State of Play.

Borderlands 4

We saw our first footage of Borderlands 4 during The Game Awards. Now we have a release date. Borderlands 4 will release later this year on September 23 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. More details will follow with a dedicated Borderlands State of Play later this Spring.

Release: September 23

Days Gone Remastered

Zombie action game Days Gone was met with mixed opinions when it launched in 2019 for PlayStation 4, feeling like it just missed the wave of zombie populism from the 2000s and 2010s. It didn’t sell enough to warrant a sequel, but apparently there’s enough interest for a remaster. The PS5 version includes improved graphics, DualSense support, and a new survival arcade mode.

Release: April 2025

Digimon Story Time Stranger

The original Pokémon clone is getting a full JRPG in Story Time Stranger. Players can travel between the human world and the new digital world in a fully 3D adventure. The digital world is full of Digimon living their own lives. As with previous entries, tamers can battle, collect, and train their Digimon in turn-based combat.

Five Nights at Freddy’s: Secret of the Mimic

I may not understand the appeal, but I do know that FNaF is crazy popular with kids and teens. Secret of the Mimic is the 11th game in the horror series, starring the villain from the Suecrity Breach DLC. In addition to PS5, it’s also coming to PS VR2, which sounds extra terrifying.

Release: June 13

Saros

From the studio that made Returnal comes Saros, which had one of the coolest trailers of the entire showcase. On an alien planet, a soldier investigates dangerous anomalies. Like Returnal, it’s a 3D action roguelike, but Enforcer Devraj can permanently upgrade his suit and weapons to grow stronger after each death.

Sonic Racing Crossworlds

You can’t keep a good kart racer down. Sonic Racing Crossworlds if the follow-up to Team Sonic Racing. By driving through Travel Rings, racers will end up in entirely different worlds and race tracks. Players can sign up for a closed beta test on February 21.

Tides of Annihilation

Tides of Annihilation is an action-adventure that infuses post-apocalyptic sci-fi with Arthurian legend. Players play as Gwendolyn, the last knight. Gwendolyn can summon spectral allies during combat, mimicking the feel of a co-op experience. Players will traverse a fallen London, alongside a fantasy version inspired by Arthurian legends.
