LeapFrog Enterprises announced LeapLand Adventures, a new plug-and-play game system designed for younger kids to play TV video games that are educational and fun. The entire adventure is contained within the big, kid-friendly controller, along with an HDMI stick for connectivity and a USB cable for charging, for $34.99.
The system includes everything you need right out of the box, without connecting to the internet, downloading patches, or setting up accounts. Old school!
Kids can choose between two different characters and explore educational worlds such as Letterland, Numberville, and Color Springs. They can jump through levels and collect gems and other treasures as they explore over 150 learning items. Progress can be saved in five different player profiles for multiple kids, and the game is designed to be replayed over and over with additional collectibles to be found.
“LeapLand Adventures was designed to present young children with essential learning skills to lay a foundation for later school success,” said Clement Chau, Ph.D., LeapFrog Learning Expert. “Throughout the game, children meet fun, educational characters who introduce letter names and sounds, teach counting, and show shapes and colors found in everyday items. To further the learning, the game also includes a Learning Center where your child can practice specific skills at their own pace.”
