Seattle-based indie developer Outerloop Games released their debut game this week, Falcon Age. Falcon Age was built for PlayStation VR, but also supports non-VR on PlayStation 4. It’s available now for $19.99.
Falcon Age is a first-person adventure set on an alien planet. It stars Ara, a woman who’s been wrongfully imprisoned. The planet’s resources have long since been drained by the colonizing machines. Ara befriends a young falcon and manages to escape. Together they’ll become stronger, gather resources, and fight back against their oppressors.
The falcon is a major part of the gameplay. You’ll be able to name, feed, teach, and even dress your falcon buddy. There’s even a dedicated pet button for fist bumps and high fives. Together you’ll need to hunt animals to collect parts and food to upgrade your falcon, while Ara can wield a stun baton to fend off the robots.
For those wanting a more casual experience, you can play in Imprint Mode, which makes combat entirely optional.

Outerloop Games was formed in 2017 by veterans from Uber Entertainment (Monday Night Combat). Falcon Age is their first game. It has an E10+ rating from the ESRB.
