Electronic Arts and Maxis have announced the newest expansion for The Sims 4, Seasons. The weather-themed expansion pack will release on June 22 on PC and Mac for $39.99.
The Sims 4 Seasons will add new weather effects and activities. Snow will fall in winter, where your Sims can build snowmen and snow angels, or ice skate. Splash in rain puddles in the spring, host pool parties in summer, and jump into crunchy leave piles in the fall.
“With a vast variety of weather elements that empower the ways players can play with life, The Sims 4 Seasons will allow players to use their Sims to tell relatable stories like those they’ve experienced in real life,” said Grant Rodiek, Producer. “The ever-changing weather will transform worlds in unique ways by impacting gameplay choices, Sim’s relationships, and Sim’s daily life, while also delivering new challenges. Our team has worked hard to bring this highly-requested expansion to the game, and The Sims 4 Seasons adds more dimension to The Sims universe than ever before.”
With Seasons come holidays, such as Love Day, Harvest Festival, and the gift-giving Winterfest. Players will also be able to create their own custom holidays and how to celebrate them.
Seasons also adds a new gardening career. You can follow a creative path as a floral designer or take a more scientific approach as a botanist.
Seasons is the fifth expansion to The Sims 4, which originally launched in 2014. The Sims 4 was recently, and surprisingly, ported to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One last fall. So far the console version does not have any of the expansions. A mobile part called The Sims Mobile was recently released earlier this year.
The Sims 4 is rated T for Teen.
