Canadian indie developers Bishop Games have announced the official release date for their debut platformer, Light Fall. Light Fall will arrive on PC (Win, Mac, Linux) and Nintendo Switch on April 26, for $14.99.

Light Fall tells the story of a shadowy young boy who journies through a land drenched in darkness. Wit the help of a snarky old owl (and narrator) named Stryx, the boy can use part of the shaodw power to conjure a floating cube called a Shadow Core. This devices allows the player to essentially create new platforms to solve puzzles, evade enemies, and contain traps.

The world of Numbra presents multiple different biomes and areas, as well as shortcuts, hidden paths, and scattered collectibles. For those looking for an even greater challenge, a Speedrun Mode is included, featuring increased difficulty and online leaderboards for fastest times.

Light Fall was the successful result of a 2015 Kickstarter campaign by Bishop Games. They raised over $15,000.

In a recent Kickstarter update, Bishop Games explained that PlayStation 4 and Xbox One ports are still forthcoming: “It’s true we’re launching on Switch and PC first, but it doesn’t mean we have forgotten about PS4 and X1. We will see how the sales go and we will adjust our strategy accordingly. Rest assured that these two consoles are definitely our next target.”

Light Fall launches April 26 on PC and Switch. It has been rated E for Everyone with Fantasy Violence and Mild Language.
