Indie studio Piece of Cake Studio has launched two player cooperative heist game, Hacktag, today on PC and Mac (Steam). It’s currently on sale for 25% off, or $14.99.
Hacktag is set in a near future world populated by anthropomorphic characters. Two players (online and local split-screen) work together to infiltrate corporations and steal data. One player is a physical agent in the field while the other performs their hacking virtually. The agent avoids guards and traps while the hacker avoids anti-virus software. Many obstacles require both players working together physically and virtually. In single player, one player switches between the two roles.
“We formed Piece of Cake Studios so we could play games together, and Hacktag is designed to be a truly fun co-op experience that’s very intuitive while providing exciting challenges,” said Marine Lemaitre Freland, Co-Founder and CEO of Piece of Cake Studios. “Whether you’re a game-playing couple, buddies looking for a new couch co-op game, or a solo gamer, we hope Hacktag makes your Valentine’s Day more enjoyable.”
Hacktag features three corporations across 24 levels. Each character levels up and gains new abilities, as well as unlocking over 360 cosmetic items.
The game originally launched via Steam Early Access last summer. Hacktag is Piece of Cake Studio’s first project.
