LEGO Worlds is available today for Nintendo Switch (Friday September 8 for EU). The suggested price is $29.99, but most retailers have it listed for $39.99. Like all LEGO games before it, it’s published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and developed by TT Games. The Nintendo Switch version includes the Classic Space DLC pack and the Monsters pack, which is due to release in October on other platforms. You can watch the new launch trailer above.
“We’re so pleased to be able to bring the fun and creativity of LEGO Worlds to Nintendo Switch™,” said Jonathan Smith, Head of Production, TT Games. “The game looks fantastic, in both TV mode and handheld mode. Having the power not only to build whatever you want, but to play with it wherever you go, feels truly awesome!”
LEGO Worlds features cooperative multiplayer and two player local, split-screen co-op. It plays like a classic family-friendly LEGO game meets Minecraft as you control a minifig and explore worlds, find treasure, and unlock new building materials and figures. You can build anything brick-by-brick or place prebuilt structures. You can also paint and reshape the landscape.
The Nintendo Switch version includes the Brick Build Showcase. The Showcase features a rotating selection of Brick Builds (prebuilt structures, characters, etc) that players can download and place into their games.
Another LEGO game, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2, is out due later this year on November 14. It’s coming to PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
LEGO Worlds is also available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC (Steam). It’s rated E for Everyone.
