The Penny Arcade Expo is returning to Australia for the fifth year in a row. PAX Australia will take place from October 27-29, 2017 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. Tickets will go on sale beginning March 14, 2017 (just after PAX East ends).
“Australia’s gaming community has given PAX such an incredible home here,” said Jerry Holkins, co-founder of PAX and Penny Arcade. “This year will see the fifth PAX Aus erupt in Melbourne, and there’s every indication it will be the best one yet.”
The date was moved up a few weeks from last year to avoid being so close to the Melbourne Cup.
PAX is one of the world’s biggest gaming conventions. With the recent announcement of PAX Unplugged, a total of five PAX conventions (plus a dev-only PAX) are now sprinkled throughout the year. PAX Australia is the only PAX not located in the United States. PAX East is the next upcoming PAX convention, running March 10-12, 2017 in Boston.
Individual day passes cost $65 AUD. Three day passes for the entire weekend run $165 AUD. If you want to bring your own computer to play games, you’ll need a special BYOC (Bring Your Own Computer) pass for $45 AUD. If your purchase tickets early you can save $5 AUD on ticket price.
