The mobile RPG Mobius Final Fantasy launches internationally today on August 3rd. American audiences will now have the chance to play the game that has been available in Japan since June.
Mobius Final Fantasy includes a team of developers who have worked on other Square Enix games like Final Fantasy VII. The game tells the story of a man called Wol who arrives in the world of Palamecia with no memory of how he came to be there. Wol is one of many Blankers who have awoken in Palamecia with memory loss. The Blankers are part of a prophecy that says one of them will become a “Warrior of Light.” Our protagonist soon discovers that he is this chosen individual. Once he accepts his destiny, Wol sets out to defeat the armies of Chaos with the help of a princess and a moogle.
The game’s worldwide release will be celebrated by a special in-game series of giveaways through August 31st. Players can win extra items simply by logging into the game at least once a day until August 12th. Square Enix will also be giving away unique items like Tidus’ weapon from Final Fantasy X and a Yuna character card.
Mobius Final Fantasy is free-to-play on iOS and Android devices. The game includes in-app purchases that are completely optional.
