Since its launch garnered criticism about not focusing on games, the Xbox One has seen some major updates that show people that the Xbox One is a games first machine. That just become more clear as Microsoft has decided the TV DVR feature that had been announced last year, according to The Verge.

“After careful consideration, we’ve decided to put development of DVR for Over-the-Air TV on hold to focus our attention on launching new, higher fan-requested gaming experiences across Xbox One and Windows 10,” a Microsoft spokesperson said in a statement to The Verge. “We’re always listening to fan feedback and we look forward to bringing more requested experiences on Xbox One, Windows 10 and Xbox Live this year.”

The TV DVR feature would allow users to stream over-the-air broadcasts to their computer or mobile device. It also would have included the ability to set up recordings of live TV when streaming wouldn’t be practical.

Microsoft dropping the TV DVR feature has reinstated something Xbox head Phil Spencer has been trying to make clear to everyone. We can expect to hear a lot more about what Microsoft IS doing at E3 next week.
