Insomniac Games is a storied developer whose resume includes games like the Ratchet & Clank series, Sunset Overdrive and the Resistance series. The company is widely respected within the industry for delivering engaging content that’s extremely polished. Today the company released a teaser trailer for what seems to be the next game in development.
Not much detail is shown in the trailer, besides the fact that appears the next game will be an underwater adventure of some sort. The trailer shows a gradual descent through peaceful waters filled with gently swishing plant life and sculptured ruins of some other civilization. Since Insomniac has a history of both comical and light-hearted games as well as more serious titles, it will be interesting to see what direction this new game takes. From the teaser, my bet is on a light-hearted all-ages game in the vein of Ratchet & Clank.
But we won’t need to wait long for more details. The teaser says ends with the words “Dive Deeper” and promises something else on January 28. We’ll keep our eyes open for more details once they’ve been announced.
In other Insomniac news, the Ratchet & Clank series is making a comeback this year, in terms of not only a game, but an animated film as well. Both of those projects are slated for release in April.
