If you didn’t play games back in the PlayStation 2 era then you probably won’t remember Ratchet and Clank. These two characters had multiple games and were beloved by gamers and gaming critics. The games were always humorous and cartoony with lovable characters and great platforming gameplay. It’s not surprising that this franchise is making its way to the big screen.

A new Ratchet and Clank game is scheduled to come out on the PlayStation 4 around the same time as the movie, and the game and movie are going to going to follow the same plot line. The new game is a re-imaging of the first Ratchet and Clank game. Both the game and the movie are scheduled to be released in the spring of 2016.

The general plot of the games involves Ratchet and Clank dealing with some sort of threat in the universe. Another major character in the game is Captain Qwark, who is a muscled superhero without a lot of intelligence. Captatin Qwark is probably the funniest character in the games.

The gameplay was a combination of platforming and third-person shooter. It was developed by Insomniac Games, who also made the mature-rated Sunset Overdrive. That game had very similar gameplay as Ratchet and Clank. In some of the games, you could take control of Clank, who has different gameplay, in some sections.

The entire Ratchet and Clank series has more than 15 games on Sony platforms, including PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable and a few games on mobile devices.
