We’ve got some bad news for fans of the Uncharted series and the beautiful but seriously difficult platformer Ori and the Blind Forest.

First, Naughty Dog says Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End will be coming a month later than previously planned. The exact date is April 26, 2016. In a post on the official PlayStation blog, creative director Neil Druckman and game director Bruce Straley said:

“This is our largest Uncharted game to date, and the team has been working incredibly hard to meet the challenge of closing out the game’s development in a timely manner. However, as we approached our final deadlines and started wrapping up the game’s levels, we realized that several key sequences needed extra resources to bring them to the finish line.”

This is corporate speak for “big parts of the game don’t work now and we need to change that.” (Translation is our own.) In any event, hopefully the extra time will be enough to make Uncharted 4 as good as Naughty Dog is promising.ori and the blind forest

In other delay news, The Definitive Edition of Ori and the Blind Forest won’t be available until an undisclosed date in 2016. The new edition will feature new content as well as fan feedback. Some fans (including us)  would like to see them tone down the difficulty, although that’s probably not possible given the way the game is designed. Still, it would be great if gamers who aren’t highly skilled platformers could get through the game and experience the end of the story, which we’re told is wonderful.
