If you wanted to get the perfect present for your Pokemon-loving child and were disappointed that you had to wait for the special Build-A-Bear Pikachu, then Happy Holidays to you!
Build-A-Bear told Polygon that Pikachu will come out sometime this December. And indeed, you can pre-order your very own Pikachu on the Build-A-Bear website right now. Besides Pikachu himself, you can also get some adorable accessories like the cute little hoodie in the photo above, courtesy of Polygon.
If you want to skip the in-store stuffing, you can pre-order the “Exclusive Web Set,” which will get you a pre-stuffed Pikachu that comes with both hoodies (he has a Charizard hoodie and a Pokeball hoodie). This Pikachu also has six exclusive sounds, and ships with the Pokemon Trading Card exclusive to Build-A-Bear. It costs $60.
Orders over $40 have free shipping on the Build-A-Bear website. Plus, no in-store pick-up involved, which saves you a life-draining holiday mall trip.
On the other hand, if you want to stuff your own Pikachu, you can reserve a doll that you can pick up in the store in “late December.” It also comes with the Trading Card, but the outfits are sold separately. That Pikachu costs $28, and the added Pokeball hoodie would be $12.50. Unfortunately the sounds and the Charizard hoodie aren’t available with the store version. Maybe Santa is hoarding them?
