The full version of Skylanders SuperChargers will be released on iOS. SuperChargers is the latest full game from Activision’s popular Skylanders franchise, and previously it was announced that only the racing portion of the game will make it to the Wii and Nintendo 3DS.
As of October 25, SuperChargers will be made available on iPad, iPhones, and the iPod Touch. Trap Team had a tablet version, but this is the first time that a full Skylanders game will come to other mobile devices. What’s more, players can save their game on the cloud and play the same game on multiple iOS devices, at home and on the go.
The portal for Skylanders SuperChargers on iOS works through Bluetooth, and the iOS edition Starter Pack includes a Bluetooth controller for your device, as well as a stand so that you won’t have to prop it up awkwardly. Touch controls will also work on the iOS version of the game.
The Starter Pack comes with the same figures that you’ll find in the console version: Spitfire, Hot Streak, and Stealth Elf. After downloading the app, the digital versions of Spitfire and Hot Streak will unlock for free. In-app purchases will enable you to get other Instant characters, like Instant Dive-Clops, Instant Dive Bomber, Instant Super-Shot Stealth Elf, and the Instant Stealth Stinger.
You will of course still be able to purchase figures of these characters and load them up through the Bluetooth Portal of Power.
Skylanders SuperChargers will be released for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii U, Wii, and Nintendo 3DS on September 20. The iOS version of the game will support co-op and multiplayer racing online, while the console version will allow two players to race each other locally.
