Back in January we learned that Club Nintendo, Nintendo’s loyalty program, was closing its doors. Well, the day has finally come (in the U.S., at least). June 30 was the last day to access your account.

For the time being, there is no Nintendo loyalty program. When you bought a new game for your Nintendo Console, you used to get a 14-digit code that you could enter into your Club Nintendo account online. The more codes you collected, the more coins you earned. Coins could be exchanged for things like free games and even physical rewards with free shipping. You have until July 31 to redeem any download codes you may have gotten through this program.

Nintendo has assured us that a new loyalty program is going to be unveiled very soon. It will be interesting to see how this new program will work with upcoming Nintendo mobile games or with the mysterious project NX. Thus far, Nintendo has been incredibly vague about what NX actually is, except to say that it’s a “dedicated game system” and “a brand-new concept.” We won’t hear more until 2016, though the internet is rife with speculation.

Read the Club Nintendo FAQ page if you have more questions about the end of the program.
