Nintendo released humorous life sim, Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream, on Nintendo Switch (and compatible with Switch 2).
Living the Dream is the long-awaited sequel to 2013’s Tomodachi Life from the Nintendo 3DS, back when Miis were a thing. Remember Miis? Those goofy digital human avatars that originated on the Nintendo Wii?
In the new Tomodachi Life, players can create Miis from prompts, from the Switch creation software, or built from scratch, then given them a personality, and toss them on an island.
The Sims-like gameplay unfolds as Miis interact with one another and build relationships, whether friendly, romantic, or adversarial. By fulfilling their Miis’ needs, giving them gifts, and playing minigames, players can increase their island rank and unlock new content for the island.
In a series-first, Living the Dream includes non-binary and aromantic Miis, and supports same-sex relationships, a neat show of progress since 2013. Players also have more control over directly controlling
Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream is out now on Switch, and rated E for Everyone.
A free demo is available on the Nintendo eShop. The demo grants three custom Mii characters. By completing the demo, you will receive a Hamster Costume that can be given to Miis (the costume can also be earned from regular play).
