In your latest episode of Want to Feel Old?, Sonic the Hedgehog turns 35 in 2026! To kick off the Blue Hedgehog’s 35th anniversary, Sega has released a new Sonic website along with a fun, 1-minute Anniversary trailer showcasing Sonic through animation, live action films, and of course, decades of video games.

There’s not much to the website at the moment. There’s some links to recent games, such as Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds and Sonic X Shadow Generations, as well as the latest news. Additional anniversary-related content, including collectibles, will be revealed throughout the year.

“We’re incredibly proud to celebrate 35 years of our beloved Sonic franchise with our fans,” said Marcella Churchill, Vice President of Sega Brand Marketing, Sega of America. “This milestone is not just a reflection of our past, but also a look toward the future as we continue to innovate and grow. We want to bring our community together and create memorable experiences for all our fans throughout 2026!”

Sonic fans don’t have to wait to celebrate the milestone. Sega has partnered with Amazon for exclusive 35th anniversary merch, including shirts, hoodies, tumblers, tote bags, phone cases, and more.

Sega recently announced that Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is getting a physical edition for Switch 2. The Switch 2 physical edition will release on March 26 ($69.99). And yes- it actually includes the game on a physical cartridge! The physical Switch 2 edition will also include the Werehog Pack DLC.

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is also available digitally on Switch 2, as well as PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
