During the recent Nintendo Indie World Showcase, developer Double Dagger Studio teased new content coming to last year’s cute cat adventure, Little Kitty, Big City.

The Picture Purrfect Update will expand the Tokyo-inspired city with new areas, more characters (and returning friends), and more customization options. Judging by the trailer, the customization options are truly unchained. Completely change your cat avatar, wield weapons and other handheld objects, and don angel wings. And, of course, more hats!

Best of all, the entire update is going to be free on all platforms.

Little Kitty Big City has a long-standing relationship with Nintendo. The game was announced in the 2023 Indie World Showcase, then showcased again during last year’s showcase just ahead of its release.

As a cozy, non-violent, kid-friendly 3D platformer, we adore Little Kitty, Big City (read our review). It’s a bit on the short side, and having new areas to explore is a welcome addition. Plus, fully customizing the cat is a huge boon for everyone, but especially cat owners!

Unfortunately, the update news didn’t include a release date, but it’s expected to drop later this year.

Little Kitty, Big City is available on Steam PC, PlayStation, Switch, and Xbox, and rated E for Everyone.
