During the PC Gaming Show, part of Summer Game Fest 2025, highly anticipated indie life sim Paralives finally revealed a release date. And it’s this year! Well, barely.

Paralives will launch via Early Access on Steam PC on December 8.

“Our goal with Early Access is to provide a first enjoyable experience that has room to grow, so that we can collect feedback from players and improve the game,” states the official news post from developer Alex Massé and the Paralives Studio. “We’re looking forward to jumping into this next exciting phase of Paralives’ development!”

The trailer doesn’t feature a word of dialogue, but focuses heavily on the people, how they age, and the drama that unfolds. The scene of a woman having a mental breakdown in a bathroom is certainly emotionally stirring.

The Early Access version will feature a ton of content that The Sims fans have been dying for, including an open world town, day-night cycle, shops and restaurants, character autonomy, and more. Plus aging, children, careers, personality traits, and all the life sim stuff fans have come to expect.

Build mode also allows more options and freedom, including flexible wall placement, color wheels on everything, grid-less construction, object resizing, and more.

Future roadmap of content includes pets, cars, swimming, gardening, pools, and entire town creation.

Paralives was first announced way back in 2019, and began as a solo developer project inspired by The Sims. It’s funded by Patreon.

Paralives Early Access has a release date of December 8, with a $39.99 price tag. The price will increase later when the sim hits 1.0, thought the developer pledges not to release any paid DLC or expansions until the game is fully released.
