Ravensburger has announced Disney Villainous: Treacherous Tides, the next standalone expansion in the tabletop board game. The expansion adds two sea-themed villains, including the series’ first villain from a live-action film: Davy Jones (Pirates of the Caribbean), along with Tamatoa (Moana).

In Villainous, each villain has their own unique deck of cards, and end-game objective. Davy Jones must collect five treasure tokens. He’ll need to gather his crew, reveal the lost treasures, and defeat the heroes to recover them.

Tamatoa wants the Heart of Tifiti. The power of creation, for a crustacean! He’ll need to grab the Heart, and keep the Magic Hook away from Maui, and bring both items back to his lair.

“In Disney Villainous, our team gets to retell familiar stories from across Disney animation, immersing players in the Villain’s point of view, something you rarely get to see in the films,” said Lysa Penrose, International Product and Marketing Manager at Ravensburger. “Treacherous Tides marks the first time we got to do this with a character from a live-action film. In addition to new gameplay, we got to re-imagine the film in our iconic Villainous illustrated style.”

Disney Villainous: Treacherous Tides includes everything needed to be play the game with two players, with one player taking on each villain. To play with more players, and utilize other villains, additional Villainous expansions need to be purchased. All Villainous expansions are compatible with each other.

Treacherous Tides will release as a timed Target exclusive first on July 21, with mass retail release starting August 1. The Target version includes a special underwater sleeve, and a shiny mover for Tamatoa.
