Resolution Games and Wizards of the Coast have announced Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked. Battlemarked was first teased one year ago, and it’s coming to PC and consoles, including virtual reality platforms. A release date has not yet been announced.

Players may recognize Demeo as the virtual tabletop RPG designed for Oculus Quest in 2021. Demeo was later ported to PlayStation VR, and then to PC with support for non-VR. Demeo emulates the look and style of playing a tabletop RPG around an actual table, with minis, elaborate sets, and and lots of die rolls.

Nabbing the official D&D license for a similar project is a no-brainer.

“With the launch of Demeo back in 2021, we began to grow an incredible relationship with the D&D player community,” said Tommy Palm, founder and CEO, Resolution Games. “Demeo and Demeo Battles quickly became a game night substitute for Dungeon Masters who wanted an out-of-campaign way to have fun with their groups, and for D&D players to introduce their friends and family to tabletop miniatures games. Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked opens up that appeal even further by adapting the classes, actions, and lore of Dungeons & Dragons to this system for all new adventures and a whole new experience built from the ground up with D&D in mind.”

Like Demeo, Battlemarked will be a DM-less RPG experience that focuses on cooperative tactical combat with up to four players. Battlemarked will feature two story-based campaigns at launch, with additional campaigns as post-launch DLC.
