Marvel Rivals has been out for less than two weeks, and we’re already getting the first seasonal event. The Winter Celebration adds a new limited-time game mode starring everyone’s favorite land shark, along with some new winter-themed skins.
Oh, and that cute new Jeff skin is totally free!
The new limited-time mode is Jeff’s Winter Splash Festival. It’s a 4v4 Arcade Mode where every player plays as Jeff the Land Shark. How do a group of healers defeat each other without losing their minds? Judging from the trailer, Rivals borrows from Splatoon, with Jeff’s healing blast painting the ground in his team’s color.
By completing tasks and challenges, players can earn new nameplate, spray, and that Cuddly Fuzzlefin Jeff costume (D’awwww).
Other new seasonal skins include skiing outfits for Rocket Racoon and Magik, a Christmas Tree Groot skin, and a gnarly ice Venom.
The Winter Celebration event for Marvel Rivals kicks off December 20, though an end date has not been revealed.
December 20 is also the start of the Marvel Rivals Invitational, featuring four pfressional teams from North America. The tournament will stream live on Twitch this weekend, Dec. 20-22.
Marvel Rivals is a free-to-play, online hero shooter starring heroes and anti-heroes from the Marvel universe. It’s available on PC (Steam, Epic), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, and rated T for Teen.
