The Game Awards 2024 is the premiere awards show for the gaming industry — and effectively E3 in December with over a dozen new game announcements and world premiere trailers. Judging by this year’s new announcements, 2025 is shaping up to be a massive year in gaming.

Here are the new game reveals we’re most excited about!

Dispatch

Miss the golden age of Telltale cinematic adventure games? Us too! Adhoc Studios is made up of Telltale Games veterans, and they debuted the trailer for their first game, Dispatch. Dispatch is set in a modern world of organized superheroes, with a mature, animated art style reminiscent of Invincible. Play as the dispatcher who sends superheroes out on missions, while dealing with office life. The voice cast is ridiculous, including Laura Bailey, Matthew Mercer, Jeffery Wright, and Aaron Paul.

Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet

The exciting final announcement of the night was for Naughty Dog and Neil Druckman’s next game, an original sci-fi action-adventure called Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. Intergalactic is set in an alternate future with a 1980s aesthetic. Bounty Hunter Jordan (Tati Gabrielle) becomes stranded on a dangerous remote planet while hunting for a criminal syndicate. The A-list voice cast includes Troy Baker and Kumail Nanjiani.

Release: TBA

Ōkami sequel

One of the biggest surprises of the night also got host Geoff Keighley a little emotional. Okami is the definition of cult classic when it released in 2006 with its unique watercolor visuals and Zelda-like gameplay. Successful remasters gave the game new life over the years. During The Game Awards, original game director Hideki Kamiya (Bayonetta) announced a full, as-yet untitled sequel as he returns to Capcom with new studio Clovers.

Release: TBA

Split Fiction

Joesf Faris is a beloved celebrity with The Game Awards, and took the stage to reveal Hazelight Studio‘s latest co-op adventure, Split Fiction. And what better way to present this awesome-looking split-screen blend of fantasy and sci-fi than with Faris talking over three minutes of actual gameplay? This is how you trailer!

Release: March 2025

Stage Fright

One of the more unique trailers of the show began like an animated movie trailer, with our heroes watching gameplay on a screen before peeling back for a very brief tease of the actual split-screen co-op adventure. We don’t know much about Stage Fright, but it’s from the studio that gave us Overcooked, an absolutely amazing (and occasionally rage-inducing) co-op series.

Release: TBA

The Outer Worlds 2

Funniest trailer award goes to The Outer Worlds 2, which humorously reminds the audience that developer Obsidian is great at making sequels. The Outer Worlds is a Fallout-like first-person RPG set in a satirical future of mega-corporations, laser guns, alien monsters, and memorable allies and enemies.

Release: 2025

The Witcher 4

One of the biggest trailers of the night was near the beginning of the show. CD Projekt Red officially revealed The Witcher 4 with a lengthy, cinematic trailer. The fourth game in the dark fantasy, third-person action-RPG series stars Ciri. Ciri was a supporting character in The Witcher 3 (and adoptive daughter of series protagonist Geralt), and serves as a good excuse to level up all over again as an aspiring monster hunter.
