Indie game studio Covenant.dev has released a PC demo for upcoming survival crafting game, Across the Wonderlands, as part of Steam Next Fest.

As you may have guessed, Across the Wonderlands is set in a fantastical, colorful world inspired by classic tale Alice in Wonderland. But that’s not even the best part — this is a crafting game without recipes or crafting stations! Players can simply combine materials (and emotions, apparently?) on the fly as they explore the world.

It’s also a world that’s more whimsical than dangerous, encouraging players to hurl food as their weapon of choice. Creatures react differently to different food types, including becoming enraged by spicy food.

With their handy Briefbase, players carry their portable base with them. Players can customize their portable home, building their skills and expanding their abilities while exploring.

Across the Wonderlands will support four player co-op, and full modding support.

Survival-crafting games are a dime a dozen, but the colorful world and easy crafting makes this one worth checking out.

A release date has not yet been announced, but Across the Wonderlands will first launch via Steam Early Access. Developers are planning on at least six months in early access.
