During the PC Gaming Show of Summer Game Fest 2024, indie Polish studio Ancient Forge revealed Hotel Galactic, a management sim coming to Kickstarter this July.

Though “Hotel Galactic” sounds like a space station hotel, the titular inn leans much more fantasy as you build on a magical floating asteroid.

The cosmic hotel is a bit run down. Players will need to design the rooms and layout, purchase (or craft) furniture, feed guests by creating meals, and manage hotel staff.

The crew of alien workers can forage for ingredients, gather material for furniture, serve guests, clean rooms, and more.

The vibrant, colorful art style is directly inspired by Studio Ghibli’s beloved anime films.

“Hotel Galactic is the project that utilizes everything we’ve learned in the last ten years or so,” said Dushan Chaciej, CEO, Ancient Forge. “We aimed to create a wholesome and engaging experience for players that love to watch their simulated little dudes end up in all kinds of weird situations. Personally, I can’t wait to see what the world thinks of what we’ve been working on for the past three years.”

Hotel Galactic will seek crowdfunding on Kickstarter, starting on July 9, through July 30. Backers can win exclusive add-ons, and access to the Alpha test.

Platforms include PC, PlayStation, Switch, and Xbox.
