Remember Astro’s Playroom, that little game that came with the PlayStation 5? During the State of Play showcase, Sony and Team Asobi announced a follow-up to Astro’s Playroom. Astro Bot will release on September 6.

In Astro Bot, players take the cute little robot on a grand 3D platforming adventure through six galaxies and over 80 levels in search of the robot’s lost crew.

Also, we all agree that Astro is clearly a descendant of Eve from Wall-E, yes?

As with Astro’s Playroom, Astro Bot will again show off the PlayStation 5 controller’s haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. Astro can even fly on a Dual Speeder modeled after the controller (and  featuring motion controls).

During the adventure, Astro will acquire over a dozen new abilities, including air-dashing, big punching, swinging, and, er, sponging.

“We received a ton of heart-warming comments about how much fun the game was, how it utilized the DualSense wireless controller in fun ways and how it paid tribute to 25 years of PlayStation history,” wrote Nicolas Doucet, studio director, Team Asobi. “From the bottom of our robotic hearts, thank you very much for all your support! We listened to your comments and now, Astro is back in a super-sized space adventure, his biggest to date.”

As an official Sony property, Astro Bot also features fun crossover with other PlayStation titles, including full-on costumes, such as Kratos from God of War.

Astro can also be found in the 2018 PSVR platformer, Astro Bot Rescue Mission.

Astro Bot will launch on September 6 exclusively on PlayStation 5, with pre-orders starting June 7. It’s rated E for Everyone.
