One of the most popular indie games from last year, Sea of Stars, is getting a physical retail edition, and special edition, courtesy of IAm8Bit.com.

The retail version includes a double-sided poster, and digital download of the soundtrack. It’s available May 10th for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

Later this year, IAm8Bit will release an Exclusive Edition ($44.99). The Exclusive Edition will feature a retro-style game manual and double-sided poster, four sticker sheets of character sprites, soundtrack download with over 200 tracks, and a collectible slipcase.

Release date for the Exclusive Edition is not yet available, but it’s coming in Q2 2024.

Sea of Stars is a pixel art RPG heavily inspired by the golden age of 90s RPGs, especially Chrono Trigger. Two young heroes set off on a world-spanning adventure as they grow into their powers as Solstice Warriors to defeat a great evil.

Players explore the island world and engage enemies in turn-based combat, unleashing combo attacks, special abilities, and timed hits.

Sea of Stars released last year to critical and commercial acclaim, though we felt it was lacking when compared to its inspirational predecessors.

Sea of Stars is available on PlayStation, Switch, and Xbox. It’s rated E10+.
