The Summer Game Fest 2021 Kickoff stream featured several celebrity guests, including Jeff Goldblum, aka Dr. Ian Malcolm from the Jurassic Park (and Jurassic World) series. Goldblum introduced Jurassic World Evolution 2, the sequel to 2018’s theme park management sim.
Jurassic World Evolution 2 will feature a new campaign featuring the voice work from characters from the franchise, including Goldblum and Bryce Dallas Howard as Claire Dearing. The game is set after the event of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, in which dinosaurs have finally been unleashed upon the world at large, no longer constrained to single islands.
Likewise, you’ll no longer be stuck with building parks on islands and archipelagos. Now you can build upon a range of biomes, including forests and deserts. Research, design, hatch, and care for over 75 different prehistoric species. Given the teases at the beginning and end of the trailer, it looks like the sequel will add flying and aquatic beasts to the roster.
The sequel includes four game modes, including an original story with campaign mode. Challenge mode includes specific scenarios to beat, while Chaos Theory lets players play through select scenes and moments from across the franchise. Finally there’s sandbox mode for creating your perfect prehistoric park.
Jurassic World Evolution 2 is launching late 2021 on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
