Frontier Foundry and developer Ratloop Games Canada have announced a “4D” tactical multiplayer shooter centered around a limited form of time-travel. Lemnis Gate is launching this summer on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

Matches are played in a series of five 1v1 or 2v2 rounds, with each round lasting only 25 seconds – but it’s the same 25 seconds repeated. Within that time, players take turns changing the timeline by changing their actions, such as laying traps, capturing targets, or blasting at enemies.

Players can choose from seven different operatives, each of which features distinct weapons and abilities. Players are free to implement their own tactics and plans as they use “non-linear logic” and “abstract thinking,” not exactly common parlance in competitive first person shooters.

Lemnis Gate is due out later this summer on PC and consoles. It’s rated T for Teen.
