Indie developer Little Rock Games and publisher Freedom Games have announced their dog shelter management game To the Rescue is coming this Fall on Steam (Windows, Mac) and Nintendo Switch, for $19.99.

In To the Rescue, you’re in charge of an animal shelter for dogs. You’ll have to manage the finances while keeping the influx of dogs healthy and happy, and ultimately find them their forever homes.

Build and customize your shelter, treat illnesses, hire staff, hold fundraisers, balance your budget, and match customers with their ideal dog. Every dog has a unique personality, including traits and preferences. And yes, you can definitely give head scritches and belly rubs.

“The challenges dog shelters and their volunteers face every day truly inspire us,” said Olivia Dunlap, co-founder, Little Rock Games. “It’s a setting we felt was ripe for exploration in games and we look forward to bringing this world to Nintendo Switch and Steam later this year.”

The developer has announced that 20% of profits made from sales will be given towards real pet shelters (details forthcoming). To the Rescue was funded via Kickstarter in 2019, and will arrive this Fall.
