Indie publisher Good Shepard has released a new trailer for narrative-driven adventure Where the Water Tastes Like Wine. They also announced the release date: February 28, on PC, Mac and Linux (Steam).

Where the Water Tastes Like Wine presents a stirring exploration of American folklore. It includes a heavy focus on voice acting, writing, art, and music. Here’s the official description from the press release:

Where the Water Tastes Like Wine is a wistfully imaginative game about traveling the land, sharing stories and surviving manifest destiny. Wander through a century of American folklore and history, encountering an eclectic cast of characters and exploring their deeply personal tales along the way. This surreal journey into the heart of the country’s past features gorgeous illustration from Kellan Jett and Serenity Forge, blending dramatic 2D visuals with a 3D overworld map of the United States.

The level of talent also extends to the writing and voice acting, including games writers Gita Jackson, Leigh Alexander, Cara Ellison, and Austin Walker. Voice acting credits include singer-songwriter, musician and actor Sting, Dave Fennoy (The Walking Dead: The Game), Melissa Hutchinson (The Walking Dead: The Game), and Kimberly Brooks (Mass Effect).

Where the Water Tastes Like Wine is the debut title by indie developer Dim Bulb Games. Dim Bulb Games was founded by Johnnemann Nordhagen, co-founder of Fullbright and the programmer for Gone Home.

Where the Water Tastes Like Wine launches February 28. It has not yet been rated by the ESRB.
