Humble Bundle continues their initial salvo of publishing indie games with Aegis Defenders, developed by GUTS Department. Aegis Defenders is out today on digital stores for PC and Mac (Steam, Humble), PlayStation 4, and Switch for $19.99.

Aegis Defenders is a combination 2D action-platformer and tower defense. It’s set within a pixelated, anime world of ruins and Ruinhunters.

The gameplay is designed for two local players controlling multiple characters solving puzzles and defeating enemies. At the end of a level players defend against waves of foes by building turrets and other defenses.

On the Switch, two players can split up the Joy-Con to play together. On PC you’ll need to use a combination of a controller and the keyboard.

Solo players can also enjoy the action by switching between characters.

Aegis Defenders was initially funded through Kickstarter in 2014. Humble announced they were publishing the game last fall as they announced their new Published by Humble Bundle label. The Minecraft-farming sim Staxel, another Published by Humble Bundle game, recently launched via Steam Early Access. Their most recent full game release was 3D platformer A Hat in Time, which launched last December.

Aegis Defenders is available now on PC, Mac, PlayStation 4, and Switch. It’s rated E for Everyone with Fantasy Violence, Mild Language, Suggestive Themes, and Mild Blood.
