Electronic Arts has announced that they’ve extended their partnership with Coldwood Interactive, the developers behind Unravel. The partnership has EA publishing the next game from the Swedish studio. According to Game Informer, that game will in fact be a sequel to Unravel.
“At EA, we love working with creative and passionate development teams, in our own studios and our partners,” said Patrick Söderlund, Executive Vice President of EA Studios in an official announcement. “I’m very pleased to announce that we’ve signed a new agreement with Coldwood to work with them on their next project. We don’t have any details to share right now, but we look forward to sharing more when the time is right. We could not be more excited to continue working with Martin Sahlin and the great team at Coldwood, and to see the next adventure they bring to life.”
Unravel is a puzzle platformer that was released earlier this year. The game spawned a big following before it was even released thanks to its adorable lead character Yarny. Former Pixelkin staff member Courtney Holmes even distributed homemade Yarny characters to everyone in the office. You can see mine in the photo.
Unravel earned fairly positive review from critics and players. It currently holds a 75% or better score on Metacritic depending on platform. You can read Pixelkin’s review here.
