Disney Art Academy will be released on May 13 for the 3DS. This game is the latest in a trend of “art instruction” games, with Art Academy: Home Studio appearing on the Wii U last year and Pokemon Art Academy for 3DS in 2014. As you may have gathered from the name, Disney Art Academy teaches you how to draw classic Disney characters as well as characters from Pixar films.

“Even if you don’t consider yourself an artist, you will be surprised by what you can create in Disney Art Academy,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing in an official release. “The game uses fun lessons to teach drawing skills to artists of all ages and skill levels.”

Disney Art Academy features intuitive lessons that will teach you how to draw the characters step-by-step. The lesson will start with the basic shapes that make the foundation of the character and then work into the details to complete the picture. The game has nine different tools to choose from, including marker and paintbrush to customize your drawings any way you like. There’s also a “Magic Brush” that can be used to add special effects to your drawings like glitter or stars.

The game features the ability to share drawings with friends and includes a free form mode, where you can draw whatever you like, or choose a template for a characters. The game will be available at retail and on the eShop for $29.99.
