The third pack of downloadable content for Rise of the Tomb Raider will be released later this month. Cold Darkness Awakened will be released for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox 360 on March 29.
The story of Cold Darkness Awakened appears to be a bit of zombie encounter. According to the official announcement, the DLC will follow “Lara to a decommissioned Cold War research base, which holds a dark past that has been unleashed into the Siberian wilderness. As a deadly affliction spreads, Trinity soldiers transform into bloodthirsty killers who thrive on carnage. Lara must rely on her wits, physical agility, and crafting abilities to overcome this new enemy and shut down the decommissioned base.”
The two previous DLC packs for the game were the new story, Baba Yaga: Temple of the Witch, and a new Endurance Mode where you’re forced to survive against waves of enemies. Like the previous DLC, Cold Darkness Awakened is part of the season pass and will be available for free to those who purchased it. It will cost $9.99.
Rise of the Tomb Raider was released late last year and has received almost universal praise for its story, character development of Lara, and classic third-person action, traversal, and puzzle gameplay.
